Gules, a saltire Azure fimbriated Argent between in flank two arrows palewise Or, in chief a rainbow Proper surmounted by a fleur-de-lis of the fourth, in base a branch of prickly pear cactus of the last. That for the regiments and separate battalions of the Minnesota Army National Guard: From a wreath Or and Gules, a sheaf of wheat Proper. ANIMUS VALET (Courage Prevails).
The service of the former organization, the 175th Field Artillery, is indicated by the blue saltire for Civil War service; the arrows are for the last Leech Lake Indian uprising in Minnesota; the cactus is for the Mexican Border service. The rainbow is for the 42d Division of World War I, and the fleur-de-lis for France. The crest is that of the Minnesota Army National Guard.
The coat of arms was originally approved for the 175th Field Artillery Battalion on 7 November 1942. It was redesignated for the 175th Artillery Regiment on 5 January 1965. It was amended to correct the symbolism on 20 April 1965. The insignia was redesignated for the 175th Field Artillery Regiment on 19 July 1972. It was redesignated for the 175th Regiment with the blazon and symbolism revised on 10 December 1997.
