The 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, is an Armored Brigade Combat Team of the U.S. Army based at Fort Bliss, TX. Originally formed in 1942 as Combat Command B, 1st Armored Division, the unit has a distinguished history, participating in major campaigns such as North Africa and Italy during World War II, as well as Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Over the years, the brigade has also been stationed at Fort Hood, TX, and in Germany.
