Crest

On a wreath Argent and Tenné, on a triangle Azure within a bamboo border Proper, three bars wavy Argent, all in front of a flaming torch Sable flamant of the second.

Symbolism

 Shield

Orange and white are used for the Signal Corps. The radio tower and flashes represent the early mission of the Battalion, that of the construction function and operation of the message center.

Crest

The crest commemorates the Battalion's mission of support in the Mekong Delta (Vietnam) as represented by the delta (triangle) with bamboo border. The way blue and white bars refer to the water of the area. The torch alludes to guidance and the four tongues of flame to the four battle honors earned by the Battalion in World War II.

Background

 The coat of arms was originally approved for the 52d Signal Battalion on 27 Nov 1941. It was amended to add a crest on 23 Mar 1967. On 2 Aug 1974, the coat of arms was rescinded (cancelled). The coat of arms was reinstated on 14 Aug 1992.
