Army Medical Unit Streamer
The Army Medical Unit Streamer is a U.S. Army organizational streamer recognizing qualifying medical units for combat service or successful achievement of established Army medical proficiency standards.
The Medical Unit Streamer is Maroon with a narrow White stripe along each side and features the authorized inscription embroidered in White. Maroon and white are traditionally associated with the U.S. Army Medical Department.
Two versions of the Medical Unit Streamer are authorized: Combat Medical and Expert Medical.
The Combat Medical Unit Streamer bears the inscription “COMBAT MEDICAL (UNIT)” and recognizes qualifying medical organizations whose personnel have demonstrated service in combat. The streamer may be awarded when 65 percent or more of the unit's authorized strength has been awarded the Combat Medical Badge during qualifying military operations.
The Expert Medical Unit Streamer bears the inscription “EXPERT MEDICAL (UNIT)” and recognizes qualifying medical organizations whose personnel successfully meet Army Expert Field Medical Badge testing requirements. The Expert Medical Unit Streamer may be displayed for one year after the organization qualifies.
The streamer is designed for display on authorized U.S. Army organizational colors, distinguishing flags, and guidons, providing visible recognition of the medical organization's combat service, professional proficiency, and commitment to Army medical excellence.
