The Army Global War on Terrorism Campaign Streamer represents U.S. Army organizational participation in the Global War on Terrorism beginning September 11, 2001.
Following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, the United States initiated worldwide military operations against terrorist organizations and those providing them support or sanctuary. U.S. Army organizations have participated in combat, security, intelligence, aviation, logistics, special operations, and support missions around the world as part of these operations.
The Global War on Terrorism Streamer is authorized for Army organizations that have received official campaign participation credit for the Global War on Terrorism.

Unlike the separate Afghanistan Campaign, Iraq Campaign, and Inherent Resolve Campaign Streamers, the Global War on Terrorism Streamer represents broader qualifying Army participation in the War on Terrorism.
Army organizations authorized this campaign participation credit display the streamer according to the organization's official Lineage and Honors or Statement of Service.
The organizational streamer is embroidered with the inscription:

Dates are not normally embroidered on organizational campaign streamers unless the date is part of the officially authorized campaign inscription.
