Army Southwest Asia Campaign Streamer
The Army Southwest Asia Campaign Streamer represents U.S. Army campaign participation and distinguished service during military operations in Southwest Asia from 1990 through 1995, including Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
U.S. Army forces deployed to Southwest Asia following Iraq's invasion of Kuwait in August 1990. Army organizations participated in the defense of Saudi Arabia, the liberation and defense of Kuwait, and subsequent operations associated with the cease-fire period.
The Southwest Asia Campaign Streamer is Tan with a Black border and Black center stripe. A Green stripe appears on each side of the Black center stripe, with groupings of Red, White, and Blue stripes centered on each side.
The sand-colored Tan field represents the desert environment of Southwest Asia, while the Red, White, Blue, Green, and Black colors represent the United States and coalition nations that participated in the operations.
The authorized campaign inscription is embroidered in White.
